aLCOHOL DIRECTIVE
Applicability: The following policies and procedures apply to all events where alcohol (of any type) will be served at the Humboldt Auditorium. These requirements are defined in state law and city ordinance.
Special License: A special, temporary license (SDL) must be obtained from the Nebraska Liquor Control Commission.
Approval by City Council: The event must have the specific approval of the Humboldt City Council.
Vendor: A vendor must be employed who will be fully responsible for the security and service of the beverages and for complying with all applicable laws and regulations. The vendor must hold a permanent license to sell alcoholic beverages. The City office will have a list of businesses that will provide this service.
Outside alcoholic beverages prohibited: All alcohol must be fully under control of the licensed vendor. Guests may not bring other alcohol into the building. “Bring-your-own-bottle” events are not allowed.
Security: In some circumstances, the Auditorium Board or the City Council may require the presence of a uniformed security officer, at the expense of the applicant.
Fees: A fee of $50.00 will be assessed in addition to the normal Auditorium rental rate.

- Reserve your Auditorium event date at the City office.
- Plan with a licensed vendor to supply alcohol service at your event.
- The vendor will make application to the City Council for approval of your event.
- The vendor will make application to the Liquor Control Commission for the special liquor license and obtain the SDL prior to the event. NOTE: This process must be applied for and attained well in advance of the event. Contact the Nebraska Liquor Control Commission for timing and requirements.
- Complete and sign the Attachment to Lease Agreement For Alcohol Service at least two days before the event.
